jennifer poon

works of jennifer poon.

i love how haunting and psychological/emotional they are.
fragmented hearts of vulnerable souls...

misprinted type

going through my old reference archives, i found these beautiful
type-based images by edouardo reclife
that i'd collected a few years ago.

admiring the hand drawn types that make unique shapes,
the old feeling of the paper background, and seemingly
free stream of consciousness type doodles...

see more here.

antony micallef

british artist antony micallef's study of heads, oil on canvas.

and a color version (also oil on canvas):

admiring the movement, the rawness, the abstraction...

francisco goya

goya's "black" paintings...
dark, loose, detailed, expressive, painful, visceral... alive.

what i'm feeling these days (thinking of my next round of paintings...).

meiji jingu

meiji jingu
in yoyogi, tokyo.
amazing to see a forest and a temple so serene nestled
in the heart of tokyo, right next to harajuku, no less.

many shrines all over tokyo really were beautiful and inspiring,
and this was the most epic one i've seen.

i could not stop looking at and taking pictures of all the
architectural details.
