Group Show at Last Rites Gallery NYC

happy new year!!
it's the first post of the year.
i started off the year sore and a bit sick,
but i hope 2010 will turn out to be a good one.
i feel the change coming! (i always do in january).

for art news, i'll have a new painting in a group show this weekend,
titled Dark Pop 2.0, at Last Rites Gallery in here in NYC.
i'll be in the company of a great line up, including my friend aya - my first show with her.

above is the piece in progress - i'll post the finished photo later. :)
the theme of the show is... obviously, "dark".
my paintings have been kind of dark lately, so it worked out.
i had started this piece while working on the pieces for my Penumbra show in november
(thus oil and acrylic on paper).

+ while rushing to finish it, the weather got super cold with wind storms,
so i had to take a refuge from the studio,
which happens to be the coldest room in the apartment.
so i crammed myself into our teeny, much warmer "living room"
(we call it that just because there's a little sofa in it) for a few days :



show opens on saturday, Jan 9th, and runs till the 31st.
